Inauguration of Six New Storage Tanks at Kolonnawa Terminal with the total capacity of 64,000 m³

The construction of six new storage tanks at the Kolonnawa Terminal was officially inaugurated on 17 September 2025, under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. The project comprises three tanks with a capacity of 15,000 m³ each, two tanks of 7,000 m³ each, and one tank of 5,000 m³.

The inauguration took place at the invitation of the Chairman of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, Mr. D.J.A.S De S. Rajakaruna, and the Managing Director, Dr. Mayura Netthikumarage.

The event was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests, including:

  • Hon. Minister of Energy, Eng. Kumara Jayakody
  • Deputy Minister of Finance, Dr. Anil Jayantha
  • Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs, Mr. Eranga Gunasekara
  • MP Mr. Nishantha Jayaweera
Additionally, top management representatives from Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC), LIOC, Sinopec, RM Parks, Litro, Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority, Sri Lanka Petroleum Development Authority, and other key institutions attended the ceremony.

During the event, a cheque of Rs. 5 billion, representing the profit earned by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation during the year 2025, was presented to the General Treasury.
